Human Body Deformations Using Joint-dependent Local Operators and Finite Element Theory

چکیده
This paper discusses the problem of improving the realism of motion not from the joint point-ofview as for robots, but in relation to the deformations of human bodies during animation. Two methods for improving these deformations are described. The Joint-dependent Local Deformation (JLD) approach is convenient when there is no contact between the human being and the environment. A finite element method is used to model the deformations of human flesh due to flexion of members and/or contact with objects.

Creation and Deformation of Surfaces for the Animation of Human Bodies
This paper discusses the problem of improving the realism of motion not only from the joint point-of-view as for robots, but also in relation to the deformations of bodies, hands and faces during animation. The mapping of surfaces onto the skeleton may be based on the concept of Joint-dependent Local Deformation (JLD) operators, which are specific local deformation operators depending on the na...
متن کاملCrash Injury Analysis of Knee Joint Considering Pedestrian Safety
Background: Lower extremity injuries are frequently observed in car-to-pedestrian accidents and due to the bumper height of most cars, knee joint is one of the most damaged body parts in car-to-pedestrian collisions. Objective: The aim of this paper is first to provide an accurate Finite Element model of the knee joint and second to investigate lower limb impact biomechanics in car-to-pede...
متن کاملDynamic response determination of viscoelastic annular plates using FSDT – perturbation approach
In this paper, the transient response of a viscoelastic annular plate which has time-dependent properties is determined mathematically under dynamic transverse load. The axisymmetric conditions are considered in the problem. The viscoelastic properties obey the standard linear solid model in shear and the bulk behavior in elastic. The equations of motion are extracted using Hamilton’s principle...

Background: Near infrared spectroscopy imaging is one of the new techniques used for investigating structural and functionality of different body tissues. This is done by injecting light into the medium and measuring the photon intensity at the surface of the tissue.Method: In this paper the different medical applications, various imaging and simulation techniques of NIRS imaging is described. ...
متن کاملA Super - Element Based on Finite Element Method for Latticed Columns Computational Aspect and Numerical Results
This paper presents a new super-element with twelve degrees of freedom for latticed columns. This elements is developed such that it behaves, with an acceptable approximation, in the same manner as a reference model does. The reference model is constructed by using many Solid elements. The cross section area, moments of inertia, shear coefficient and torsoinal rigidity of the developed new elem...
